These Terms & Conditions govern all restoration, renovation, repair, maintenance, construction and allied works — including carpentry, joinery, antique furniture restoration, interior finishing and related services — undertaken by Ahana Enterprises, Pondicherry, India. By engaging Ahana Enterprises for any project, the client agrees to be bound by these Terms & Conditions in their entirety.
01 Our Philosophy of Work
1.1At Ahana Enterprises, every project — whether the restoration of a century-old heritage structure or the repair of a single door frame — is approached with the same care, attention and devotion. We do not differentiate between large and small work. Every assignment we accept becomes our complete responsibility until it is finished and handed over to the client's full satisfaction.
1.2We regard our work as a form of Sadhana — a conscious offering of skilled labour to the Divine through service to society. Quality is not merely a professional standard for us; it is a spiritual discipline. Every surface we restore, every joint we set, every wall we treat, is done with the care and mindfulness of a craftsperson in meditation. This is our form of Karma Yoga — work not for recognition alone, but as an act of devotion. Work as worship.
1.3This philosophy defines every aspect of how we work — our material choices, our methods, our timelines, our pricing, and our relationships with our clients. We ask that clients who engage us respect and honour this spirit of working together.
02 Scope of Services
2.1Ahana Enterprises undertakes the following categories of work:
  • Heritage building restoration and structural repair
  • Residential and commercial renovation and refurbishment
  • Waterproofing, damp-proofing and seepage treatment
  • Plastering, painting and surface finishing
  • Flooring — installation, restoration and repair
  • Electrical and plumbing works (in coordination with licensed professionals)
  • Carpentry, joinery and custom woodwork
  • Antique and heritage furniture restoration — a specialist service offered through Ahana's dedicated in-house carpentry workshop (see Section 07)
  • Façade restoration and exterior works
  • General building maintenance and annual maintenance contracts (AMCs)
2.2Each project scope is defined in a formal written quotation. Works outside the agreed scope will be quoted and billed separately.
03 Quotations & Estimates
3.1All quotations are provided in writing following a site visit and assessment. Verbal estimates are indicative only and do not constitute a binding commitment.
3.2Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. Material price fluctuations after this period may require a revised quotation.
3.3Ahana Enterprises provides detailed, itemised quotations so that clients fully understand what is included. We believe in complete transparency in our pricing.
3.4Site visits for assessment are conducted at no charge for projects within Pondicherry and Auroville. Travel charges may apply for sites beyond a 30 km radius.
04 Pricing & Payment
4.1All prices are in Indian Rupees (INR) and are exclusive of GST unless specifically stated otherwise. GST at applicable rates will be charged additionally on all invoices. (GSTIN: 34AVDPK8842Q1ZX)
4.2Ahana Enterprises' pricing reflects the quality of materials used, the skill and expertise of our team, and the standard of workmanship we are committed to delivering. Our rates may be higher than general market rates. This is not incidental — it is intentional.
4.3Prices quoted by Ahana Enterprises are final and non-negotiable. We do not engage in rate bargaining or price negotiations. We respectfully request that clients who are seeking the lowest available market rate look elsewhere — we will hold no grudge, and we part as friends. For clients who value quality, reliability and craftsmanship above all, we offer our complete dedication.
4.4We acknowledge that our firm stance on pricing may not suit every client. We respect this, and we politely excuse ourselves from prolonged pricing discussions. Our time is fully committed to the projects in our care — and we believe that is exactly where it should be.
4.5Payment schedule for all projects:
Milestone Payment Due Notes
Order confirmation / Project commencement 40% advance Required before work begins
Completion of first major phase of work 30% Due on phase sign-off
Completion of works / before final handover 30% Full clearance before handover
4.6Payment schedules for larger or multi-phase projects may be structured differently and will be specified in the written agreement.
4.7All payments to be made by bank transfer, cheque or UPI. Cash payments above ₹2,000 are not accepted in accordance with applicable regulations.
05 Project Commencement & Timelines
5.1Work commences only upon receipt of the advance payment and written confirmation from both parties.
5.2Project timelines are provided as estimates at the time of quotation. Ahana Enterprises will make every effort to complete work within the estimated timeframe.
5.3Timelines may be affected by factors beyond our control, including but not limited to: delayed client approvals, changes to scope, monsoon or extreme weather conditions, supply chain disruptions, delayed delivery of materials specified by the client, or force majeure events. Ahana Enterprises will not be held liable for delays arising from such circumstances.
5.4As a boutique firm of dedicated specialists, Ahana Enterprises carries a limited number of projects at any given time. This ensures that every active project receives the full attention it deserves. Clients are encouraged to book in advance, particularly for post-monsoon and festival seasons.
06 Client Responsibilities
6.1The client is responsible for ensuring clear and safe access to the work site at agreed times.
6.2Where the client specifies particular materials, brands or vendors, Ahana Enterprises will endeavour to source accordingly but cannot be held responsible for quality, availability or pricing variations from those suppliers.
6.3The client must appoint a single point of contact for all project communications. Instructions given by unauthorised persons will not be acted upon.
6.4Any changes to the agreed scope of work must be communicated in writing. Verbal instructions to make changes will not be binding on Ahana Enterprises.
6.5The client is responsible for obtaining any necessary approvals, NOCs or permits — from housing societies, local authorities, heritage boards, or any other regulatory body — prior to commencement of work. Ahana Enterprises can advise and assist but is not responsible for regulatory approvals.
07 Specialist Service: Antique & Heritage Furniture Restoration
7.1Ahana Enterprises operates a dedicated in-house carpentry workshop with decades of accumulated expertise in traditional joinery, custom furniture fabrication and — uniquely — the restoration of antique and heritage furniture.
7.2Pondicherry and Auroville are home to some of the finest examples of French colonial, Chettinad and Indo-Portuguese furniture. Ahana Enterprises has the rare skill and experience to assess, restore, repair and refinish such pieces — preserving their historic character while renewing their structural integrity and appearance.
7.3Antique furniture restoration is offered as a standalone service as well as part of broader restoration projects. Each piece is assessed individually and a bespoke restoration plan is prepared.
7.4All antique furniture restoration work is carried out at Ahana's workshop unless the size or nature of the piece requires on-site work. Transport of furniture items, if required, is the responsibility of the client or will be billed separately.
7.5Restored pieces are returned only upon full payment of all dues.
08 Materials & Workmanship
8.1Ahana Enterprises uses only quality-certified materials from reputable suppliers. We do not substitute specified materials with inferior alternatives to reduce cost.
8.2Where Ahana Enterprises is given freedom to select materials, we will always choose what is most appropriate for the longevity, performance and aesthetic of the project — not what is cheapest.
8.3All workmanship is carried out by Ahana's trained and experienced in-house team. Subcontracting of any specialised element will be disclosed to and approved by the client in advance.
8.4Ahana Enterprises provides a workmanship warranty of 12 months from the date of project handover for defects arising from our work, under normal use conditions. This warranty does not cover damage from misuse, water ingress from sources outside our work scope, structural failures pre-existing at the time of engagement, or force majeure.
09 Changes, Additions & Variations
9.1Any variation to the original agreed scope — additions, reductions, substitutions or modifications — must be agreed in writing before the work is carried out.
9.2Variation works will be quoted separately and added to the final invoice. Work will not begin on variations until written approval and, where appropriate, an advance payment for the variation is received.
9.3Ahana Enterprises reserves the right to revise the project timeline when variations are approved.
10 Site Safety & Conduct
10.1Ahana Enterprises observes all applicable safety norms on site. Our team is instructed to maintain clean, organised and safe work conditions at all times.
10.2Clients and their representatives are requested not to interfere with ongoing work in ways that compromise safety or the quality of the work in progress.
10.3Ahana Enterprises will not be held liable for damage or injury arising from pre-existing structural weaknesses or hazards discovered during the course of work, provided these are promptly reported to the client upon discovery.
11 Dispute Resolution
11.1Ahana Enterprises believes that open, respectful communication resolves most concerns. Clients are encouraged to raise any concerns directly and promptly.
11.2In the unlikely event of a formal dispute, the matter shall first be referred to mediation. Should mediation fail, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Pondicherry, India.
11.3These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of India.
12 Intellectual Property & Portfolio
12.1All project designs, drawings, photographs and documentation prepared by Ahana Enterprises are the intellectual property of Ahana Enterprises and may not be copied, reproduced or shared without written permission.
12.2Ahana Enterprises retains the right to photograph completed projects and use such photographs for portfolio, marketing and promotional purposes, unless the client requests confidentiality in writing prior to project commencement.
